The Manufacturing Material Planner is responsible for coordinating and planning the procurement, production, and distribution of materials necessary for manufacturing operations. This role involves collaborating with various departments to optimize inventory levels, minimize costs, and maintain efficient production schedules.

A day in the life:

  • Material Planning: Develop and maintain a comprehensive material planning strategy to ensure the availability of raw materials, components, and supplies to meet production requirements.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or excesses. Implement inventory control measures to optimize carrying costs while maintaining adequate stock levels.

  • Forecasting: Collaborate with sales, production, and other relevant departments to gather data and generate accurate forecasts for material requirements. Anticipate potential issues and develop contingency plans.

  • Supplier Relationship Management: Work closely with suppliers to negotiate contracts, establish delivery schedules, and resolve any supply chain issues. Evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Production Scheduling: Coordinate with the production team to create and maintain a production schedule aligned with material availability. Ensure that materials are delivered on time to meet production targets.

  • Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain, such as shortages, delays, or quality issues. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure continuity of the supply chain.

  • Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis tools and software to evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs), track trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize material planning processes.

  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall supply chain performance. Implement continuous improvement initiatives and best practices.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred but not required. We value your on the job experience.

  • 1-3 years relevant experience

  • Experience: Previous experience in material planning, inventory management, or a related role within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and trends to make informed decisions.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

  • Organizational Skills: Effective organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities, unforeseen challenges, and a dynamic manufacturing environment.

  • Attention to Detail: A keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy in forecasting, inventory tracking, and order processing.

The R&D center

Our growing R&D center is where the team can make and evaluate prototypes for our customers and the growing nutrition bar industry. This onsite center allows us to immediately evaluate the test results and to rapidly push our innovations one step further. All employees are encouraged to taste new prototypes and share their thoughts.

We’re situated in the south end of McMinnville, a historic town in the heart of Oregon’s wine country. Not many cities here are as lucky to be just 45 minutes away from the big city, the mountains, and the ocean. An easy commute from all directions, without traffic jams.
