A Demand planner plays a critical role in supply chain management and is responsible for forecasting customer demand for products or services. The primary goal of a demand planner is to develop accurate demand forecasts to ensure that the right amount of inventory is available at the right time. This position will work with both customer demands/forecasts and material demand planning.

A day in the life:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations, procurement, and finance, to gather relevant information and data for demand forecasting.

  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to develop accurate demand forecasts for different products or services.

  • Utilize statistical models, forecasting software, and other tools to create demand plans and projections.

  • Conduct monthly Sales and Operations Planning meetings to relay analysis and projections based on demand, inventory position and market trends.

  • Monitor and evaluate forecast accuracy, identify trends, and adjust improve forecast accuracy over time.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to gather information on lead times, production capacities, and any other factors that may impact demand planning.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to gather insights and inputs that may influence demand patterns.

  • Assess the impact of promotions, new product launches, or other marketing activities on demand and incorporate them into the forecasting process.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory management teams to ensure optimal inventory levels and minimize stock-outs or excess inventory.

  • Provide regular reports and analysis on demand forecasts, forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and any other relevant metrics.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging demand patterns to enhance forecasting accuracy and identify potential risks or opportunities.

  • Continuously improve demand planning processes, methodologies, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

What you bring

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, statistics, or a related field, preferred but not required.

  • Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or related roles, preferably in a manufacturing, retail, or consumer goods industry.

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.

  • Proficiency in using demand planning software, statistical forecasting tools, and advanced Excel functions.

  • Experience with MPS and MRP analysis and execution.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management concepts.

  • Understanding of sales and marketing dynamics and their impact on demand planning.

The R&D center

Our growing R&D center is where the team can make and evaluate prototypes for our customers and the growing nutrition bar industry. This onsite center allows us to immediately evaluate the test results and to rapidly push our innovations one step further. All employees are encouraged to taste new prototypes and share their thoughts.

We’re situated in the south end of McMinnville, a historic town in the heart of Oregon’s wine country. Not many cities here are as lucky to be just 45 minutes away from the big city, the mountains, and the ocean. An easy commute from all directions, without traffic jams.
