Materials Sourcing Manager

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Procurement Manager to join our food manufacturing factory based in the McMinnville, OR. As a Materials Sourcing Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing the direct spend procurement process, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials and services critical to our manufacturing operations.

KEY ROLE ACTIVITIES

Strategic Sourcing:

·         Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet the factory's raw material and services requirements.

·         Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and assess industry trends.

·         Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their procurement needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly.

Supplier Management:

·         Evaluate, select, and manage a network of suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions for contracts.

·         Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure adherence to quality, cost, and delivery standards.

·         Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.

Cost Optimization:

·         Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and process improvements.

·         Collaborate with finance and production teams to establish cost targets and ensure procurement aligns with budgetary constraints.

Risk Management:

·         Proactively identify and mitigate potential supply chain risks to minimize disruptions to production.

·         Establish contingency plans and alternate sourcing options to maintain supply continuity during emergencies or supplier issues.

What you bring

QUALIFICATIONS

·         Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.

·         Proven experience as a Sourcing Manager or similar role within a food manufacturing or related industry.

·         Strong understanding of direct spend procurement processes and strategies.

·         In-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement best practices.

·         Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

·         Ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions.

·         Familiarity with supply chain risk management and compliance requirements.

The R&D center

Our growing R&D center is where the team can make and evaluate prototypes for our customers and the growing nutrition bar industry. This onsite center allows us to immediately evaluate the test results and to rapidly push our innovations one step further. All employees are encouraged to taste new prototypes and share their thoughts.

We’re situated in the south end of McMinnville, a historic town in the heart of Oregon’s wine country. Not many cities here are as lucky to be just 45 minutes away from the big city, the mountains, and the ocean. An easy commute from all directions, without traffic jams.
