Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist will maintain the organization’s inventory by ordering and supplying necessary items while maintaining accurate records of all procedures. 

A Day in the Life

  • Perform Work Order issues of components used in production. 

  • Work closely with packaging and production for verification of ingredients/packaging used. 

  • Work directly with production and packaging on work order variances and paperwork discrepancies. 

  • Perform raw ingredient cycle counts by lot and expiration date using the cycle count schedule. 

  • Perform spot counts as requested by production, procurement, or inventory manager. 

  • Report large adjustments to procurement. 

  • Perform after production counts on customer supplied ingredients and packaging. 

  • Perform end of month counts for customer ingredients and packaging as requested. 

  • Reconcile count discrepancies and make inventory adjustments. 

  • Create pallet labels for counted inventories. 

  • Maintain inventory forms and records of cycle count sheets, postings, and variances. 

  • Perform adjustments for item returns of internal ingredients and packaging, as well as customer supplied ingredients and packaging. 

  • Perform waste disposition adjustments. 

  • Create reports as needed. 

  • Annual physical inventory involvement. 

  • Must follow all safety requirements of the position. 

  • Follow and improve area processes. 

  • Other tasks as assigned. 

What You Bring

  • 4+ years of experience in inventory control.

  • Forklift driving when necessary.   

  • Must be available to work overtime hours if needed.  

  • Basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. 

  • Detail oriented, organized and the ability to multitask. 

  • Able to work in a team environment. 

  • Ability to speak, read and write English fluently as it pertains to fulfilling job requirements. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate with fellow team members. 

Physical Requirements 

  • Standing and walking up to 13 hours 

  • Able to lift and carry 25 to 65 lbs. repeatedly. 

  • Able to push/pull more than 1,000 lbs. using pallet jack. 

  • Able to continually bend, stoop, twist, use arms, wrists, and hands (including grasping and squeezing) throughout shift. 

  • Able to occasionally kneel, reach above the shoulder, work at heights, and climb steps with packages weighing 25 to 65 lbs. 

Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
