Financial Controller
As a Financial Controller at EMPWR, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the financial operations. Your primary focus will be on financial controlling, reporting, and spearheading ad hoc projects to ensure the financial health and stability of the organization.
Your responsabilities
Financial controlling
Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial reporting (weekly, monthly,…) for management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making;
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (both statutory and consolidated) for all legal entities in the group, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for both Leadership Team as well as the Board of Directors;
Consolidate follow-up capex projects and translate into cash needs;
Monitor cash flow, budget variances, and financial performance metrics to proactively identify areas for improvement;
You collaborate on treasury management (monitor interest rate and currency risks, determine and implement an optimal finance & hedging strategy);
You are in close contact with banks and other financial institutions; reporting, answering questions, financing and timely repayment, insurances,...;
You participate in tax and transfer pricing projects;
Identify and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate risks (bank authorisations, approvals, …);
Collaborate with department heads to gather relevant financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
Ad hoc Projects
Lead and participate in special projects, such as process improvements, system implementations (SAP), due diligence & integrations;
Conduct financial analyses to support critical business decisions and initiatives;
Provide financial expertise and guidance on cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Your profile
You obtained a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other related field;
You have relevant experience in BIG-4 audit, consulting or in the industry;
You are highly analytical with a flair for numbers and a good knowledge and understanding of financial topics;
You are IT minded and have a thorough knowledge of Excel, SAP knowledge is a plus;
You have excellent communication and presentation skills for reporting and cross-functional collaboration;
Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English are required. German and French are a plus;
You have a proven track record of successfully managing ad hoc projects within a dynamic business environment;
You have good problem solving & process thinking capacities;
You are hands-on & have a down-to-earth mentality;
Flexible for business travel (willingness to travel 10% of the time within Europe, US and Canada)

Where we work
We’re on the 8th floor with a great view on the skyline. The Blue Towers are centrally located near Ghent and easily accessible by car and bike. In this vibrant area you won’t go hungry either. Besides our pantry of high-protein bars, there’s plenty of food stores and restaurants nearby.
